Messerschmitt Bf109 G-4, 8/JG 53
Good day everybody,
I would like to present you my latest build the ME 109 G-4 Trop.
As usual every parts are coming from the box and no extra added except from 2 decals which are coming from microscale on the lower part of the wings, the kit is the 1/48 Eduard Profipack.
Regarding the kit, no major difficulties were encountered. The only surprise I got was that the kit decided to fly by himself at some point while I was removing the excess of panel lines. Results: 1 blade broken, spinner flew away, tail aerial fixation gone, portside wing stabilizer MIA, (clumsy) builder rescued. After a lot of swearing, I succeed to repair what can be repair and there she is!
About the plane and the pilot: I could not find many information nor picture. The pilot who flew this plane was Leutnant Ulrich Seiffert from 8./JG 53. I could only find few pictures of his plane(s). The yellowish picture is from his G-6 and the other I assumed to be his G-4.
Hope you enjoy and don't hesitate to leave comment.
A great Bf-109, Yann!
Have you not told us, we wouldn't have known that this model was dropped and repaired!
Hey Spiros always nice to hear. But I'm pretty sure that I could be heard across the Atlantic while I was cursing on my self. Thanks for the comment.
Very nice - love desert schemes! Well done.
Thank you very much Greg. I always like this tropical paint scheme.
A beautiful 109, Yann.
To me nothing is visible from the crash.
Thanks a lot John. I did my best to make the crash evidence disappearing. A bit of extra glue and some paint touch-up here and there.
I love tropical schemes on 109s, Yann (@yann). Well done.
Many thanks George. I wanted to have a 109 which the paint scheme I saw few years back on the 'Black 6' in Duxford. BTW this one also suffered from a crash before retiring him to RAF Hendon museum.
I wouldn’t feel too bad about the accident Yann, the 109 is notoriously difficult to land! Seriously though, nice job, looks great.
Thanks a lot Ben. I would prefer to see my model falling from my hand 1000 times and not to see this picture 🙁
