1/87 Revell BR01 Express Locomotive
Just completed the build of the Revell 1/87 (HO gauge) BR01 Express Steam locomotive.
Paints used are Vallejo Model color Vermilllon Red, Oily Steel and Black.
All brush painted.
Had a choice of 4 different sets of decals for four different locos as well as 2 different paint options for either working loco or one displayed in a museum.
Still to be done is to make a base and ballast it so the piece of track that came with the kit can sit on it.
Hardest part of this build was getting all the drive rods and linkages to go together.
It is a static kit and unless you change the wheels and drive gear they will not turn.
Nice locomotive model, Phillip!
We do not see such subjects frequently built, and it's a pity, as they are really impressive, like your model here.
Nicely finished locomotive, there's definitely something about those big German pacifics, definitely liked.
Beautiful train, Philip @phillipe50
Not so often seen but I do like the work done on this one.
Nice work, Phillip.
I have an interest in HO and a number of cars/locomotives and such but no layout. Some of those models are real gems, like yours is.
Sadly, my wallet couldn't keep up with my interest!
Nicely done, and something different.
Well done, Phillip (@phillipe50). These HO models are fun to build and detailed. I built the Revell HO model of the "Big Boy" a while back and really enjoyed the build. I like the striking colors on this German loco.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Good work on this rarely seen subject, makes for a good refreshing post.
Thank you for sharing these images Phillip.
I have an old Airfix 00 School Class steam loco on the go now. Just have to get the BR Green paint and then I can carry on. This kit has a choice of either the Southern Railway colour scheme and decals or the BR colour scheme & decals. I have an old piece of 00 straight track to mount it on.
