Airfix RAF Rescue Launch 1/72
My completed 1/72 RAF Rescue Launch.
This is the first time I have made the ‘fish trap' type of antennas as used on vessels. Need to practice more.
Colours used are Vallejo Model Color Golden Yellow, Vallejo Air Black and Halfords spray can under coat red.
The flag was made by printing it off and gluing into position with white glue. Whilst this was drying I bent the flag to look as though it is flying in a wind.
The method I used to make the ‘Fish trap' antennas is described on the following link: http://www.modellmarine.de/index.php/tipps-tricks-a-werkzeug/257-tipps-a-tricks-fuer-plastikmodelle/5231-eine-methode-reusenantennen-herzustellen
Nice vessel model, Phillip!
Those fish type antennas must have tested your patience...
The main problem was making the circular spacer pieces. The rest was fairly simple once I had read the article and did them step by step as per the write up & pictures.
You've been busy, great finish with those Halfords sprays, definitely liked.
Beautifully done, Phillip @phillipe50
Can imagine that those antennas were nerve breaking.
Very cool build of something you don't see very often.
Nicely done, that antenna looks great!
Very striking, and well done, Phillip (@phillipe50). British rescue craft always seem to have a great paint scheme.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice work on that rescue launch model Phillip.
Those antenna detail look fine, good work.
Nice job on this Phil ,you are now part of an exclusive club who attempted this beauty ,there are five in total on iModeller. Well done on the radio wires by the way I gave up on mine.

I need to obtain another RAF Rescue Launch kit and do it as the later style with more fire power and just a grey upper deck & superstructure.
Very nice model, looks great! 🙂 My next project is something like that 🙂
