Aviodrome Lelystad, The Netherlands, August 3rd
Hi all,
Yesterday I had a great day at the airplane museum Aviodrome. A one and a half hour drive from my hometown.
A fantastic day, if you love aviation ofcourse. Several historic planes inside which are at a pretty good condition and several shown outside of which you can clearly see that they are suffering from weather influences. Plants started to grown on the Antanov An2.
Ofcourse a lot of pictures were taken and I want to share some of them with you. I do have to appologize for the bad lighting conditions of the planes inside. The conditions were pretty dark and the flash on my camera is not strong enough to lighten an entire plane.
Not that much is shown from WWII except some plastic models.
All in all it was a great day with lots of interesting information and planes of which some cockpits were visible, not accessible.
Below a list of the shown aircraft.
1) Wright Flyer
2) Fokker Spin
3+4) Fokker Dr-1
5) Nieuport 11C I
6+7) Spyker V.2
8) Van Berkel WA

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice John, a great collection - love the Connie!
Nothing like spending a day at a museum. Looks like a nice collection. Thanks, John!
Nice variety of planes to look at, with some interesting displays. I really love the Connie, just an absolutely beautiful plane with such elegant lines.
Those are some amazing pics of wonderful planes , my friend John!
It is obvious you had a great time!
Hope those besutiful planes kept outdoors will soon find a shelter.
Thanks @johnb
Looks like a great day John,
can't tell the Spit is a replica.
Great photo of the Viggen, not seen too often.
John, @johnb
These pictures are incredible ! You are a lucky man to have been there in person. This is my type of place ... The Spitfire looks very realistic. Hard to believe it is plastic / fiberglass. Hobby Boss or Trumpeter perhaps ? (1 to 1 scale )
Thanks for sharing these with us. You know I definitely pressed the "liked" button.
Looks like you had a great day out, John, thanks again for sharing with us.
Air museums are always a great place to visit, especially for modelers. Great shots and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing these photos, John. I especially like the Connie and the East German Mig-21. I have the Heller L-749 Connie kit with the KLM decals. The decals are for the original all metal livery without the white tops. Your photos will be a great help when I build it.
Great pics John, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking us along @johnb! π
