1/48 Tamiya Romanian Bf-109 E
Another Romanian subject, this time a Bf-109 E. This model tries to replicate a machine that fought on the Eastern Front, including Stalingrad, with the help of a great Tamiya kit and RB decals.
What baffled me was that Romanian fighter groups chose playful insignia - the group to which this particular plane belonged had Donald Duck, others had Mickey Mouse or Bambi. The name of this fighter was Ileana, Romanian variant for Helen. It was a pleasure to build this model, hope you`ll enjoy it.
I like that a LOT, George! Great job on a road less traveled!

Thanks, the objective is to build models of most of the fighters used by the Romanian Air Force during the Second World War.
Very nice 109, George @georgedamian
The weathering is beautifully done, subtle but still noticeable.
Not a big fan of heavy weathering, here I tried a bit of black basing, thanks for noticing.
Great job, Damian (@georgedamian). I really like the way the Romanian markings look on the planes.
A beautiful model, George!
Indeed the Romanian markings look great on it!
George, Spiros - I also find the Romanian livery on Second WW planes a nice combination of colors, dark green and yellow.
Really nice work George. The 109E looks great in Romanian markings.
Looks great! I recently finished a G in Romanian markings - I've always enjoyed those schemes.
