1:35 Manned Walker

October 27, 2021 · in Sci-fi · · 9 · 1.5K

I've been wanting to build some sort of open cockpit piloted power suit / walker for a while now. I started with a seated tank crew figure from Miniart and built a seat for him from some styrene scraps and kit parts. I really didn't have a plan, other than I wanted to have an exaggerated upper body and small legs, much like a cartoon tough guy or bully. The roll cage was formed from some 1.5mm acrylic rod, using a heat gun and a wooden form. This being a more cartoonish concept, I didn't worry too much about the realism of the mechanical details, and went for a more for an impressionistic approach. I painted it with a custom green mixed from Mission Model acrylics. The weathering is a combination of enamels and oil paint. Thanks for looking.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous model, Peter! Ut is really great that you put this model together by practically scratch building most of the parts. A fantastic result, literally one of a kind!

  5. Beautiful. It looks completely realistic, which may be a contradiction in terms, given the subject. Super finish and great scratchbuilding.
