Eduard Spitfire Mk1
This is the Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk1 which I have recently completed as a commission build for a chap who found me through imodeler! My builds are normally for magazines but Bobby, who commissioned this build, particularly liked my Spitfires so I agreed to build this one for him. I'm happy to say he was very pleased with the result and I'm also building a Hurricane for him now.
The Eduard Spitfire is a superb kit and here I have used Eagle Cals and Xtradecals for the markings. Paint is Gunze Sangyo as usual and the final finish is MRP's superb 'Super Semimatt' which looks far better than a matt finish. Hope you enjoy the photos!
Well done, Alan! A wonderful Spitfire! I am sure your friend is totally satisfied.
It is a beautiful looking build. I really like the overall finish and colors you used. Very nice build indeed!
Beautiful build, Alan @alanprice1
For sure your friend will love this one.
And he will be eagerly waiting to see a Hurricane next to it.
Great job!
Super elegant! Always loved the early Spits with large roundels and codes, you made this into a gem.
Very nice Robert!
Your build is Spitfire enthusiasts eye candy. Great job!
A beautiful build! I just started using MRP paints - thanks for the tip on the matt finish, I'll have to try it out.
Really nice-looking Spitfire, Alan (@alanprice1). The finish and weathering is outstanding. MRP paints are hard to find where I live, but I think I want to mail order some semi-matt...looks great.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with an Eduard Spitfire, whichever one you choose. As you so clearly demonstrate here. No wonder your client is happy, @alanprice1.
Great Spitfire, Alan!
Great work Alan!
