Airfix 1/72 Shackleton MR.2
The 1/1 aircraft has a massive presence. The 1/72nd model is equally impressive. It is a very involved building thanks to the (unseen) interior, multi blade engines and of course, the large model size. the model design is very good but, the plastic is softly molded resulting with not so perfectly shaped parts and much additional work to cover seams. This caught me in a week spot because, traditionally I attach the canopies of my aircraft models right at the end with an open canopy option...
An absolute marvel of a model, Rafi! Looks very imposing!
Thank you Spiros
This looks awesome Rafi , amazing quality and finish .Well done Sir.
Thank you Neil
I have the kit, assembled and then stalled-out on the SOD for the past couple years. Maybe this will inspire something in that department.
Nice work on this and a great result.
Thank you Tom
It is well worth the (not so much) effort
Weak spot and all… it’s a fabulous model for sure! I like the subtle weathering, very realistic imo
Thank you Pedro
Very impressive. Congratulations!
Thank you Marcello
Well done, Rafi, on the overall job. Despite the ungainliness of the aircraft you did a nice job making it look appealing. I like the paint/"weathering"
Thank you Gary
Love all the little islands of colour splattered all over this massive patrol aircraft. No turboprops, though...
Thank you Stellan
Right, what was I thinking about... The next project
Yes, what...;)

The SAAF museum was an inspiring source for me when I was there
Super impressive work on this. The finished result is a real stunner with great paintwork and subtle weathering. Bravo!

Thanik you John
Great built!
Thank you Bojan
Really impresive build!
Thank you Lis
Great job on this Shackleton, Rafi (@blackmopane). Shacks have a profile that no other large plane possesses. When you look at the nose and cockpit, they look like they are all business. Well done.
Indeed. Thank you John
Gorgeous!
Thank you Richard
Nicely done! She is an imposing aircraft, and looks really good with those bright markings.
Thank you Greg
