And another of my dad´s models has passed the finish line.
After the Harvard, here´s the second of three Swedish subjects.
Tarangus kit which has short-run character, so some more work is needed. Kit decals were great. Added Eduard seatbelts, EZ Line for the antenna wires and lead wire for the brake lines. Painted with a selfmixed blue-gray and Gunze H309 FS34079.

The Saab 17 divebomber was Saab´s first serial produced aircraft. There were three version, powered by different engines. The "A" was equipped with a Pratt & Whitney R-1830.
The Saab 17 was used by the Swedish Airforce from 1942 to 1947. The model shows an aircraft of 1st Sqn, stationed at Frösön 1944-45.

  1. Had to check out your build thread. Mighty bad wing roots to work with. Great job on this first Saab that started a long tradition of sensible aircraft.

  2. Amazing result, Familie Spreitzhofer!

  3. I’m glad I didn’t have to mask that canopy.

  4. That’s a really interesting model, Reinhard. I didn’t even realize there was a kit of this plane.

  5. Looks great! I have a 1/72 kit of this in the stash - looks like I now have a nice reference build!

  6. Very nice.. unique & interesting subject!

  7. A not so often seen aircraft, Reinhard @grimreaper
Amazing result on this Swedish jewel.
The weathering and painting is really beautiful.
    Well done.

  8. Very nice result, producing a model of an airplane infrequently seen. Nice work, and looking at the build review, a triumph of tenacity over plastic.

  9. Beautiful work, Reinhard! Really love the shape (and the trousers :D) of this SAAB.
