Revell 1/48 SR-71 Blackbird
The Revell Blackbird is up on its stand. I made an effort to finish the model with a 'well worn' but not abused look. I used several reference photos of Blackbirds to help me.
Everything except the decals and the pilots are out of box with this kit. Paints were Tamiya acrylics, decals were Caracal. The only issues I had with the kit were assembling the nacelles and getting those engines together as seam free as possible.
For those interested I have a light hearted write up on my blog where I discuss my respect for the Blackbird and add some additional pictures:
I also have a couple videos relating to the engines and the black paint techniques I used:

Looks really menacing, Chris, the black finish is great, must have been a little tricky to achieve, but you managed it very well.
An absolute amazing result, Chris @modelairplanemaker
The worn look came out perfectly, not abused at all.
Details of the engine are great.
Designed with sliderules, blackboards and chalk, pencils and paper...
And still more amazing than all that came after.
Nice work on the Habu. Excellent result.
Amazing Habu, Chris!
Great job, Chris.
You nailed the "well worn but not abused look"! awesome work on this.
Paint job is exceptional. Build quality looks great from here as well, for what I hear is not a cut & dry assembling kit.
Fantastic paint work on this. Looks great!
At last ,someone got one finished!, I have this beast in the stash. I'm wondering why you didn't go with the kit decals ?
Fantastic job on this , I can't wait to get into mine.
Great work on his, Chris.
Amazing work Chris, great looking SR-71!
Thanks for sharing. I will be using your paint work as a reference to what I can aspire to achieve when I get to do my SR-71.
Is the stand part of the kit too?
One version of the Revell kit comes with the stand
