T-72
Hola from the Spain!
This is the Meng 1/35 kit of the T-72.
I built it at sea last year and sprayed it back on land on my leave.
I finished it early February, but was a bit reluctant to post it with current global affairs.
But without any political affiliation, here it is.
Meng at its finest again. The tracks I find are fragile before painting with the jig and pin system, but once painted and varnished they tend to hold okay.
Thanks for looking.
A wonderful model, Richard!
Nothing wrong in building a model "politically affiliated". We are modelers. We build.
Cheers mate! Thanks very much.
Great looking armor, Richard @richardmcstay48gmail-com
We modellers are building because of the model not the politics behind it.
Thanks very much mate, cheers!
Well done, Richard. Your weathering and paint schema look very professional! I just finished a Meng F-18D Super Hornet, and was very pleased with the quality.
Cheers!
I have a hornet in the stash, it’s the Eduard limited edition.
Looks like a captured one used by Ukainians to me (they actually have quite a few now). 🙂
Nice work on this.
That would make a great dio with a Ukranian flag and troops on it.
Cheers Tom!
Yeah, I’ve got an assembled T-14 ready to paint and was thinking of a Ukrainian scheme for that one.
Politics aside of course.
Nicely done, great job on the weathering.
Cheers Robert, thanks very much.

You did a magnificent job with it ! I especially like the way you dirtied it up and dusted it. It looks very realistic. You can trust me on this. I was a tanker in the US Army and I served as a crew member in the various positions from the Loader to the Tank Commander slot. I logged over 2,000 miles driving a M-60A1, but I spent most of my time as a Gunner. We were transitioning into the M1A1 when I got out of the military. I almost re enlisted because of that tank. If it could have cooked and washed clothes...
Your "target" looks magnificent. I definitely clicked on the "like" button. You nailed it buddy.
Thanks very much mate!
Sounds like you had an interesting career.
I’ve drove an apc but never an mbt!
Great job on this, Richard, Meng do some nice kits, but it takes skill to make them as good as this.
Cheers George!
Thanks very much mate.
Well done, Richard (@richardmcstay48gmail-com). The T-72 is one of those tanks that just looks like it is all business. Individual tracks make my hands shake when I think about them. I still like to work with the old-school rubber band tracks.
Cheers mate.
Yes, they take a lot of time, but the end result is worth it.
Richard (@richardmcstay48gmail-com), you done good on modeling the plastic and it represents a T-72 very well indeed. It is a frequent subject on Youtube and now carries many labels many, of them are negative for the crews who operate the tank if your on the wrong side.
Some strong work in the construction , painting, grime ,mud and dust.
Smashed the like button.
Cheers, thanks very much.
Yes, I’ve heard they aren’t taking hits very well.
Great job on this Rich, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ukranian forces have as many of these as the enemy.
Cheers Neil, thanks mate!
Yes I think they have a lot.
The model turned out very nice. I built the same kit so I know what kind of effort is needed. Meng really should be commended for the kit but one thing I found annoying was drilling out the holes in the individual links to make the pins go in easily.
Thanks very much mate.
Yes, there’s a lot of work goes into it.
Very nice work Richard! 🍻 That tank does look realistic! 👍
Cheers mate!
Thanks a lot.
Fabulous one, Western tanks are superior but the looks of the T-72 are great too!
Cheers mate.
Yes, I prefer the looks of all the Russian armor and aircraft.
Thank you very much for the great closeup photos...I've wanted to do this kit, and your example will be very helpful.
Cheers mate, no bother at all!
It’s a good kit, very complex but enjoyable.
