1/12 Suzuki 'NEW Katana' GSX750S, Tamiya Kit No.34, Motorcycle GB
Well, T'was the night before the night before Christmas...
I would not have completed this kit if not for the Motorcycle GB, so thanks to that Group and it's great members to give me the motivation to get this one done.
This is another one of my kits that I started more than 30 years ago and then ended up in storage - I recall the white finish was very intimidating back when I was using Testors and Humbrol enamels. I still need to refine how I fill in the lettering. After a few tries, I could not get the 'Suzuki' on the crank casing to look better; however, I'm good the way it looks now.
I originally had the idea of building this for my cousin and I plan on delivering it to him soon, before the New Year.
He had the nickname 'Trifle' as a kid, so I made personalized plates for the build as well as a board base to make this stable on his display shelf.
This Tamiya Kit No.34 was released in 1985 and reissued in 2018 - thank goodness because I was able to get English detailed instructions from Scalemates and detail the engine and components properly.
Just as I was finishing this build I found the newly reissued 'Old Katana' GSX1100S and figured this build was fun enough to make a Katana for myself - hopefully this Katana won't take 3 decades to build. š
An excellent result, George @georgeswork
The bike alone is already great and the base makes it stand out even better.
It was a pleasure to follow your thread.
Looking forward to GSX1100.
