No 2 PRU Hurricane PR IIc Trop

January 4, 2023 · in Aviation · 7 · 598

2nd Model in a month after 10 years away and did a 2nd Hurricane! The weather has not been kind to my other activities, even here in California. This time the 1/48 Hasegawa IIC converted to a PR IIc Trop. Not much too it other than adding the airwaves camera bay on the belly and deleting the guns, gun sight and antenna mast. This depicts a Hurricane of No 2 PRU Heliopolis Egypt in late 1942. It seems these were converted locally, replacing the guns with fuel tanks and removing as much other weight as possible to extend range and service celling. This is painted with AK real colors with no decals. All markings are painted. I really hate decals, I seem to only get acceptable results about 50-70% of the time, so just painted this simple paint scheme. I hope you like it. Shown with its older brother.
