And now for something completely different…
I wanted a model of my youngtimer 1991 BMW E30 cabrio, but could not find any kit.
So I decided to disassemble a die cast model and gave it a paint job to resemble the color combination of my car.
Think it turned out pretty well. What do you think?
The last picture is a mix of the model and the real thing 🙂
Nice job, Alfred. I like the gloss finish.
Thanks, Gary.
Turned out really great, Alfred! Genious approach, well done!
Thanks so much, Spiros.
Looks great!
Dankjewel, Michel.
You did an amazing job, Alfred @alfred
The blue is a clear copy of the original color as can be seen of with the model placed on the hood.
In fact it is the same color. 🙂
I thinned paint from a touch-up pencil so I could use it in an airbrush.
The BMW color name is “Mauritiusblau”.

@alfred, what a great idea to have the exact same paint, Alfred.
Nicely done, Alfred. An interesting way of obtaining the build you seek.
Thanks, Robert.
Good looking car, Alfred, the 3 series were cool in those days.
Thanks, George.
Yes, and it is fun to drive and hear the straight-six purring. 🤗
Great job on this BMW - the colour is a perfect match. Fantastic work.
Thanks Anthony @anthonyricco
