1/35 Hobbyboss Olifant Mk.2 MBT

April 13, 2023 · in Armor · · 3 · 1K

Here is my recently completed Olfant Mk.2 MBT as developed for and used by the South African National Defence Force.

Kit used is the Hobbyboss Mk.1B MBT which box is is incorrectly labelled as it is the Mk.2.
Paints used are Vallejo Model Color 70.874 Tan Earth & 70.976 Buff. The green is Hataka HTK-A254 Buffalo Green.
I did order the Hataka acrylic SANDF Brown and MRG Stone, but they never arrived, so I used what I had available.
All were brush painted.
The end of the main gun barrel has since been painted black.
The antennas are made using 0,4mm steel wire. The kit supplied antenna bases were drilled out and the wire antennas super glued into them.
Still need to dirty it up a bit and a decent base to be made for it.
Next armour builds will be the IDF Shot Centurion and then the IDF Shot Kal modified to an SADF Olifant 1A MBT. Both are AFV Club 1/35 kits
