Airfix Bristol Beaufort Mk.I 17/2

April 26, 2023 · in Aviation · · 15 · 576

I have this soft spot for two engined planes. Therefore, after the Blenheim and Mosquito, i decided to take on the . I decided to do the 217 squadron scheme because i wanted to give the very dark scheme a try.
The kit is great, although it is also considerably more difficult as the Mosquito. There is so much glass to mask! The amount of detail is impressive.
I used AK interactive and Ammo Mig acrylics and some grey panel line wash and Ammo Mig dark wash.

Apparently the Beaufort crews had a 17,5% chance of surviving a tour (300 flight hours). In order to drop a torpedo they had to fly right into the flak and still remain a steady hand. These guys were tough.
