Serbian Infantryman
It has been a while since I've posted something. I wasn't lazy, I've been doing few models. It has been a jumpy ride with Fw190 D9 in 1/32 from Hasegawa with fully changed details. Almost 10 PE frets, complete resin cockpit, engine, wheels, fuel tanks inside fuselage, tail, figures… Pics will come soon, but that project took some 4 or 5 months to be finished. Also, I've started PzKpfw IV ausf J with complete interior, crane, figures… Really exhausting project which will be diorama with almost 12 figures…
Finally, as a rest from that projects I received this Metal Modeles Serbian Infantryman figure in White Metal. My friend Lazar took some connections from France, and this really rare figurine came to me.
I decided to leave all other projects in favor of this one. It was really nice sculpted, I've changed bayonnet, scratchbuilt muzzle break…
Finally I had a chance to try some new techics in figure painting. Whole figure is done with acrylics. Some colors were chalenging, but nothing serious. I have so much about thic iconic period in Serbian history, so I fully enjoyed this project. This is rifleman which I would like to dedicate to immortal Gvozdeni puk which gave so much sacrifice during the Great War.
Feel free to comment, enjoy!
A true work of art, Djordje @sheol
I'm really impressed by your painting skills.
Also looking forward to the other projects you finished.
Thank You, my Friend, for kind words. I was bit away from Imodeler, but I will add some more models which I'm currently working on 🙂
Amazing result, Djordje! Excellent painting! And what a dedication! Looking forward to see the other models you are working on.
Thank You 🙂 This figure represents soldier afew months before exile to Greece and opening of the front near Thessaloniki.
That's some beautiful paintwork, giving a very realistic result.
Maybe the uniform could be more greener, but I'm satisfied.
You’ve captured the character very well, the look on his face says it all.
It is shame that in World's history books some can not find much about Serbian part in the Great War. In fact, the first victory in WWI was won by Serbs during the battle Cer. Second victory was fought and known by the name Kolubarska bitka, manoeuvre done during that battle is stil being researched on the West Point.
