F14 A Tomcat 1:48 Academy - WIP
Hello friends.
I started building an old Academy F14A kit in 1:48 scale.
It was a donation so that he can continue practicing the hobby.
It will be quite a challenge since most of the pieces are loose, also the instructions are somewhat damaged but I will try to do the best job possible.
The question is that the kit, despite the conditions described above, has a set of improvements from Ayres, with which I began to work. For now this is the result in the seats.
Although I think that I will reduce the metallic wear since I see in reference photos that they are generally not so damaged. I will also try to outline and illuminate the belts so that they stand out a little more.
I will continue to share with all of you the progress in this project.
Seats look great. Look forward to further updates on your build.
Thanks Bob!
Looking good, Federico...your weathering and highlights look great.
thanks Joe!
Great start, Federico! Which exact year the kit is? If you can take a pic of the box art or the instructions, I might have a look to see if they can be downloaded from scalemates or elsewhere.
I don't know exactly what year it is, but according to the instructions and what I could see online, it would be this:

Nice looking seats Federico. Aires resin has some gorgeous details but can sometimes be a bit tricky to fit.
iModeler has specific groups for posting all genres of Work in Progress.
The Headlines are more for completed builds you see.
You can post your F-14 progress under the “Work in progress-Aircraft” Group or under the “Aviation- Jet Age” Group for instance.
Hello, yes I had to do a major modification since part of the wheel well at the bow was in the original part of the copckit.
I apologize, I'm new to the site and I didn't realize I was posting in the wrong place.
Delete the article?
NO need to delete your fine work on the seats as the comments are all positive.
Those seats do look like real ones, Federico @federicoschulze
Will be looking forward to the rest of this build with great interest.
Brilliant looking seats, but, yes, please post the rest of the build in one of the aircraft groups so that we can follow your progress. When it’s complete you can post it here in Headlines. Welcome to iModeler.
