Thank you Mark.
Only the lower surfaces of the model are painted. I left the natural plastic as is and applied dark water based paint on the panel lines. I then, wiped off the excess paint and painted the seams and canopy with a matching color to the plastic. Finally, after the decals were applied, I gave a touch of matt transparent paint to hide the plastic shine.
I've got two of these in the stash (F-8E and F-8J) and your model is a good argument in favor of pulling at least one out on the workbench. Excellent result Rafi!
Beautiful. Yes panel lines are not so prevalent, but model building is also art and adding them often gives depth that would be lost without them. I tend to add them on lighter finishes and not use them as much on darker ones
I love the look of the detailed panel lines. Very nice, indeed.
Thank you John
Excellent build, Rafi! I too think that enhancing the panel lines looks are more beneficial for this kind of plane.
Congratulations!
Thank you Spiros!
Fantastic result, Rafi @blackmopane

Excellent looking Crusader, Rafi, the exaggerated panel lines really work.

Looks great, Rafi. The enhanced panels lines make it very eye appealing. Well done!
Thank you Gary!
The dark panel lines make this bird even more impressive!
Love your rendition of this “last gunfighter”, Rafi.
Thank you Alfred.
Very nice. Would love to know more about your painting/finishing process.

Nice F-8, Rafi! The Crusader is my second favorite jet after the Mig-21.
Thank you John!
