Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk.1 1/72
I have wanted to build this kit for quite some time. There's some nice examples of this kit on this site.
I used only AK Interactive acrylics for this one- their dark brown/green are much nicer than Ammo Mig‘s, tbh.
Some panel line wash and a matte coat in the end. Will definitely build another one! Airfix has nice schemes.
Btw, this kit displays one of the Hurries of 111 squadron that flew to France in 1938, to celebrate Bastille day. There's a short clip of it online.
Looks great Felix. Love the paint. I wouldn’t have guessed it was 1/72!
Thanks a lot Ben @popeofchillitown! I really enjoyed painting this one!
Super build Felix. A pre war hurri in a good looking scheme 😊. Nice one.
Dear Guy @thom, thank you very much for your kind words!
Nice job on a pretty kite. Those paints do pop indeed.
Hey Bill @billkoppos, thanks a lot!
Excellent result, Felix @fxrob
It does look like a much bigger scale. The painting and weathering does look superb.
Dear John @johnb, as always thank you for your kind feedback! I really enjoyed doing this paintjob.
Great looking effort, Felix! @fxrob
Thanks John @jdtruby!
Looks fantastic Felix (@fxrob) - well done!
Dear Scott @scottiya, thank you very much!
Fantastic work!
Thank you Lis @lis! Your builds always inspire me, what’s up next?🙂
Mabye sth bigger now? ☺️
Well i have the RAF B25 waiting and a Vampire in 48 🙂 And you?
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Very respectable modeling Felix!
Your work on the camouflage seems to be well done and the light and subtle
weathering gives this model a gracious Hurricane touch.
Dear De @de4ever, thank you so much for your compliments! I am very pleased with this build and i do want to do the other schemes for sure!
Hi Felix
The Venturi tube on the Hurricane wasn't normally positioned like that. It does look different though.
Hi Christopher @christopher,
Oops, did i make a mistake? What exactly is it?
The Venturi tube on the left hand side of the fuselage shouldn't stick out as you have it. It runs parallel to the fuselage (see attached photos of No. 111 Huricanes).

Wow thanks, i sure got that one wrong😂🙈
Nice looking Airfix 1/72 Hurricane.
Dear George @chinesegeorge, it’s just really a fantastic kit!
Excellent result on your Hurricane, Felix! Definitely looks bigger than 1/72!
Jasou Spiros @fiveten, as always a big thank you for your feedback!
Nicely done, Felix!
Thanks Gary @gwskat!
Nice work - love that pre-war scheme.
Hi Chas @chasbunch, thanks a lot! Yeah, i like that 1938ish look a lot.
Great build, the camo looks beautiful. This kit is a really good kit for the money, lots of great details. Airfix has been on there game the last several years and seem to be getting better. I have a couple in my stash waiting there turn to be built.
Dear Clint @curtisshawk, thanks a lot for your kind words! Yeah, this is a great kit - i love the modern Airfix kits, including the Tomahawk! I look forward to seeing your Hurricanes!
Totally in agreement with you. Airfix's Tomahawk is great too. I posted on here not too long ago. I think it would be cool if they did one of there modern 1/24th scale kits of a P-40E in a North African scheme. There are no good P-40s in that scale and Airfix could definitely do it.
Looks great - well done!
Thanks Greg!
