Here is my take on Airfix's Korean War F-51.
Great kit with excellent value. Built OOB with a few scratchbuilt modifications- namely a seat cushion with seat belts and some additional Korean War radio equipment that was not included in the kit.
-
1. added this radio receiver for period appropriate equipment
Finished with Vallejo acrylics, some oil and and pastel weathering as well.
I used the auxiliary fuel tanks as napalm- I tried to replicate the messy look of the tanks in the field.
Overall a fun build with pleasing results. Highly recommended!

A REALLY awesome build. I love the NMF using Vallejo Metatallics and the weathering on the fuel tanks are beautiful!
Man that Vallejo is really impressive.. Great looking bird!
This is very nice. It's surprising how nice those Vallejo metallics look. You don't see Korean era Mustangs often, but they definitely played a part in that war.
That's very nice - you got the flat, weathered coroguard silver finish, the messy napalm tanks, what's not to like here?
Great job with this Airfix kit.
Impressive build and interesting insight.
Nice. Hope my RF-51D turns out as good.
Excellent work, David.
Fantastic build and superb, very realistic result, David!
Congratulations!
Great looking build. @dbutlr
Excellent build, David @dbutlr
The looks of the napalm tanks is very realistic.
Love it! NMF work is really nice, and yes - love the napalm tanks!
Awesome Mustang David! You definitely nailed the weathered look you were going for. Nicely done.
Great build, nice job on the messy Napalm look.
What a great NMF finish and weathering. Very convincing! Awesome job.
Excellent build David with great weathering effects. Top modelling.
