Revell 1/72 Focke Wulf Fw 200 C-8
The mighty German sea prowler is well depicted by Revell's offering. The aircraft had a fair share accidents typically with broke spines and main land gear collapses. Nonetheless, the model holds its ground. After more than 15 years in display, it does not show any sighs of plastic fatigue, not to mention decal aging.
The model comes with radar antennae and Hs293 guided missiles. Yet, I chose not to include them in the build because the parts are too bulky. Moreover, I wanted to show the model in its characteristic form. Spinners should be RLM 70 and not yellow, but the rest follows Wk.Nr 256 on the basis of photographs that I came across
Very sharp work, especially the paint and weathering.
Thank you Dale.
Beautiful build, Rafi! I like your relatively clean and elegant approach to this bird. Congratulations!
Thank you Christopher.
I think you’re right, Rafi, it looks cool without the added paraphernalia of the antennae and missiles.
I saved the Hs293 to the Greif.
Looks great! I got the BV222 which was released around the same time as the Condor that you built. I had always wanted a FW200, but never got one at the time yours was released.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Dan.
It was a Golden modelling era.
Nice work, Rafi. Do you remember what paints you used?
Thank you John.
This was a time of debate about the true RLM colors. My conclusion was that the correct hues depend on the amount of contrast you wish to accomplish. Hence, for many years I mix my paints.
Looks fantastic. Beautiful plane, and your model captures the sleek (for its time) look. Good choice keeping the klunky ordnance off the wings.
Thank you Bob.
Standard-issue excellent @blackmopane work. Anothe winner!
Inspiration to (finally!) drag mine out and do it.
Thank you Tom!
Looks great, Rafi. @blackmopane
Thank you John.
Awesome result out of the good Revell kit, Rafi! Excellent painting and weathering as always.
Congratulations!
Thank you Spiros!
It does look fantastic, Rafi @blackmopane
Hard to believe this build is already over 15 years old, it looks just like a fresh build.
I agree with you that the aircraft looks way better without those Hs293 missiles.
Thank you John.
I was prepared for the usual breakdown, but the undercarriages did not collapse during the photo session.
Awesome Condor build, looks good without all the extra stuff hanging from it. Now I gotta have one!
Thank you Chas!
You will not be disappointed.
Spectacular, Rafi @blackmopane. Very inspiring. I'll have to join all the others and drag mine out of cold storage.
Thank you Eric.
It is a very good kit.
Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Rod!
Looks great! I've always loved the Condor - elegant lines. I had in the stash until I decided to stop building such large models... just don't have the display space!
Thank you Greg!
