Revell 1/72 Shackleton MR.3
Revell's Shackleton MR.3 is based on the 1967 mold from Frog. A genuine oldie that still shines. It has raised panel panel lines and rivets. Homogeneous painting with sparse weathering will blend the rivets into the panels to create a realistic looking surface texture. Yet, seem lines and poor fit of parts is part and parcel of the old kit. Engine nacelles, cockpit frame and fuselage require considerable attention. Nonetheless, it builds into a realistic looking formidable Shackleton.
Good work on an old kit, it looks like how I remember them flying from RAF St Mawgan.
Thank you George.
And coming very low over home at Plymouth no doubt working with the sea survival school. At a tiny kid I hid under the garden table. Decades later I was chuffed to bits to share airspace over the A1 as a shack went north. Ideal in a glider...noisyπ
Superb job on this elderly mold, Rafi!
Congratulations!

A triumph of "some modeling skill required." π

Very nice result on this Shackleton, rafi @blackmopane
Well done.
Thank you John.
A beauty, well done mate. Oft forgotten end of a line. As one pilot called them
"Three million rivets vibrating in formation surrounded by an oil leak...with a sparkplug on the roof"π€£πβ€οΈ
Thank you Chris.
Some oldie (over engineered) kits are true to form than modern kits.
That's one if those kits I always wanted as a kid and never got. Great job, Rafi!
Thank you John!
