AFV Club 1/35 Shot Centurion

February 26, 2024 · in Armor · · 3 · 144

Completed in September 2023 my 1:35 IDF Shot Centurion (aka Shot Meteor).

It has been completed as one used by the the Israeli 10th Armor Brigade, Samaria, West Bank, Israel 1967.

Paint used was Vallejo 73.614 Primer IDF Sand Grey 61-73.

The tarpaulin sheets with the tank ID on the side of the turret were done using tissue papers painted with thinned down white glue. Once dry they were painted and then the numerical decals put on.

Note how the sand brown paint changes its shades according to different light conditions. The las photo was taken using a camera flash whilst the other photos were under normal house light.

I might yet make a canvas cover for where the the cannon mantel mounts onto the turret.
