Richard Petty 73 Charger by MPC

January 19, 2023 · in Automotive · · 18 · 0.9K

Hello all!I haven't posted a build in a long time but it is great to be back!
Here is the Scale Richard Petty 73 Charger and quite possibly the worst mass produced kit I have ever experienced, bring all of your skills if you attempt this awful kit.
I spent probably 100 hours making the best out of it and the results are pretty good. I've added lots of scratch built parts as the kits parts are not to my standards.
I hope you enjoy the results!

Rick

  2. Thanks so much Matt! This was a tough build to get through and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

  3. You definitely made the best out of it, Rick @rickschad
Your skills are clearly able to produce a beautiful Carger with lots of details out of this kit.

  4. Interesting subject matter, beautifully done! Great job @rickschad!

  5. Thank you Robert!

  6. This is a wonderful result out of a most challenging kit, Rick! You have done a splendid job, taking care of every detail.
    Congratulations!

  7. It turned out great! Looks like the real deal.

  8. Looks great, well done! My wife got me the JR Salvanos 1/25 scale kit for Christmas. It looks to be be a great build, and unlike what has been written is actually a new tool, not a re-pop of one of the older kits. What color did you use for the red? I ordered a decal for mine, looking on line the decal set works great.

  9. Thanks Rob, Salvinos makes great kits and made in the USA. This kit was 1/12 scale MPC and horrible fit issues. I mixed a custom red/orange using Tamiya acrylic.

  10. Classic no 43, Rick, terrific example of this great car, I really appreciate the work that has gone into this, thanks for sharing with us.

  11. Looks great! welcome back!
