I was wary of Secret Santa, but I stand corrected

Coworkers can turn out to be pretty cool.

This (last?) year my coworkers invited me to participate in the Secret Santa game, or the anonymous gift exchange. I was doubtful, as who could really get another random person, someone we know little about, a gift they would truly appreciate?

Well it turns out you can, as the person who pulled my name out of the hat got me the perfect gift.

Whoever it was (they told me later and i made sure to thank them profusely) gifted me the bomber kit and a polished brass airplane bottle opener. I was thrilled. I made sure to finish this kit (relatively) as soon as possible to show my appreciation for them.

What a great gift this was, very thoughtful. It meant a lot to me, and it turned out to be a very fun, rewarding, relaxing project. Great times.

It's fun to relax on a simple project, a kit that was also made on my local Long Island, NY. Close to home.

Hopefully the person who's name i drew out of the hat liked my gift just as much…

Thanks for looking.

  1. Great gift and looks cool. I didn’t realize Atlantis was located in NY. Those old Monogram and Revell molds have really moved around! I was just going through my stash looking at several old Aurora kits made way back when on Long Island. Helldiver, Gotha, DC-8, Breguet. Getting the urge to build some of these oldies again.

  2. That's very nice Kyle, a great result.

  3. The whole concept was excellent, as was your final result, Kyle!

  4. Great looking Mitchell!

Many of those Atlantis (Revell repops) kits are quite fun to build which is missing many times after putting together a 600 piece marvel of injection molding.

  5. I love those old kits on their kit stands. Simple to build, and they make for a nice little display piece.
