Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanther

April 24, 2024 · in Armor · · 5 · 263

Tamiya tank destroyer in . Pretty much mandatory kit for German armor guys, and the coolest WW2 TD in my humble opinion. Airbrushed the “big stripe” Camo freehand using paints. Weathering was done with Vallejo paints, AK dark earth and ammo filter for three color Camo. I am happy with the brown and green but think the yellow got a little too dark. Treads are the original one piece type glued down to replicate sag and finished with Tamiya dark iron base, hull red wash, black wash and some Vallejo environment soil/grass. Skirts and brackets are PE. Barrel is from Aber. Stowage is bits and pieces with the spares box. The drum's L brace and tarp are scratch built. Figure is stock from the kit with a cigar added with sprue and finished with Vallejo paints.

The freehand painting turned out really nice.
Also the tank commander looks very good.

  2. Excellent result on both the Jagdpanther and the figure, John!

  3. Nice work, John. I’ve always thought that thing looked like the hot rod of tanks!

  4. That looks great, John @atjoe! 🤩 I love the paintwork. 👍 But, you better strap that rear deck stowage down before it falls off in transit! 😉 😃
