Norton Manx 500cc1952 (Italeri 1/9)

May 14, 2024 · in Automotive · · 10 · 227

When I restarted my old modeling-hobby last year this -kit from was one of the first kits I bought. After building some armour I thought it was time to give this one a chance. Geoff Duke won the Dutch TT in Assen on this bike in 1951, the year he became World Champion

Italeri wrote on the box they made the molds for this kit “with proud in 1964”. I'm more used to modern kits, so the thick plastic was a nice challenge. One of the wheels had a few broken spokes and parts on the sprues had lots of flash, but removing them carefully and fitting the parts with care made this a nice build. The chrome-parts and decals make this bike really nice in my opinion.

The result makes me understand why Italeri still produce this kit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  3. Great result from this old but still very buildable kit. Many of these bikes still exist and are used in classic motorcycle racing.
