1/144 H8K 'Emily' IJN SEAPLANE

June 20, 2024 · in Aviation · · 10 · 342

This is the LS/ ARII tooling of the H8K Emily. A very nice and older tooling of this kit . Overall pretty basic but that ca be expected for this scale. It has engraved panel lines & it fits well. A perfect candidate for a seaplane diorama!.

Not as impressive as the newer 1/72 tooling of this type by Hasegawa more recently. All I added was rigging adn teh of course the ocean diorama...This was a little break from the Sabre series.

  4. Excellent build and beautiful diorama, Steven @sjcorvi
Nice dynamically presented with the spinning propellors and the waves.

  5. Yeah - I sold the 1/72 Emily I had in my stash - just too big! Your build looks great in the dio with the blurred props!

  6. Well done, nice diorama.

  7. That water is impressive. This must be the Emily that was the first combat victory by VF-15 when they caught it over Saipan and Wayne Morris nailed it. That water looks like a "plop" not a landing - which is hard to do and really looks great when you get it right as you have.

  8. Nice work, Steven. It looks very detailed for 1/144.

  9. Thanks everyone. IT was a fun project Love the dynamic element of flight displays
