41 - 1/12 Tamiya Honda VFR750R
This is a really nice kit, the only down side is the very thick decals that have a tendency to crack over the curves of the bike.
I decided to do one side clear as that was an option in the kit - so the beautiful engine could be displayed and the other painted up.
A really fun kit in the usual unbelievable Tamiya quality, only let down slightly by the very thick and fragile decals.

@anthonyricco. REally really nice result! I do dislike the thick decals too, next time try the hairdryer method, works pretty well.
Hey Cricket @bikequeen - thanks a lot - yeah not even the hairdryer worked - they just cracked apart, next time - Mask and spray is the only way.
Yeah that work the best, i hate those page decals even worse on the 1/6th bikes, but you did it justice
Turned out great, Anthony, love that Honda colour scheme.
Thanks so much @chinesegeorge - yes the red and blues work so well.
Superb result despite the challenging decals, Anthony!
Well done!
Thanks so much Spiros @fiveten. appreciate it man, yeah I was happy with the result.
@anthonyricco - Great build Anthony. I am surprised by the decals... is it an older kit? The 1/12 Repsol I did a while back seemed like the decals were really nice...
Hi Brian - thanks a lot - not too old - I think its a late 90's kit - the Tamiya decals are thick, great on flatish surfaces but the ones on the back had to conform around some curves and didn't like that. Their car decals are also like that - I've learnt now if its a large area of colour then I'll rather just spray the colour.
A wonderful result, Anthony @anthonyricco
I like your approach to leaving one side transparent, making this beautiful work on the engine visible.
Thanks so much @johnb - yeah I like using what's In the box, especially if it's different to usual so decided to try it - and also wanted to show that beautiful engine off.
Outstanding job! I have this kit started, now I have the inspiration to finish it!
Hey Juan @jebenite1 - thats so awesome to hear that its inspired you to finish - come on - do it man, can't wait to see yours.
Japanese decals can be very thick and do dry out quickly (though this is mainly a Hasegawa issue). A great recovery though.
Thanks a lot @Christopher - yeah, I've had a few bad experiences with Tamiya's large decals, and yes, Hasagawa decals gets an automatic clear coat from me as soon as I start the kit.
Must be bike season. Another great looking model
Thanks @dbdlee - posting up my backlog as I haven't posted on here for a while. But it's always awesome to see lots of bikes.
