Hasegawa 1/48 Fieseler Skoda FiSK 199
In 1942 plans were made to enable the 109 to carry a large 500kg bomb. The Fieseler company designed the modifications. An auxiliary undercarriage leg was fitted under the center of the fuselage to clear the bomb from the ground. This leg was jettisoned after take-off and was fitted with a parachute for retrieval. The modifications were carried out by Skoda, hence the assignment of the Fi-Sk designation. It is thought that two aircraft were converted and tested.
The Hasegawa FiSk conversion is carried on a Bf 109G-2 model.
Looks fantastic, Rafi! Excellent result and a very rare modeling subject!
Thank you, Spiros!
A very nice build, Rafi @blackmopane
One of those 109s that you don't see that often.
Thank you, John.
That's one you don't see every day. Nice work as usual, Rafi.
Thank you, Tom.
Very cool and something a little different. Up to your usual standards.
Thank you, Chas.
Excellent camo, and assembly. I have not seen this modification before. The main gear of the 109 looks like it would be severely challenged taking off with a load of that magnitude.
Thank you, Russell.
It seems though, that the design was aimed for better clearance.
Now that is a strange duck! Looks great as always.
Thank you, Greg!
