The Class of 2024; Completed Builds, (And one that might soon be...?) for the past year...

This past year, 2024, was by far my most productive year as far as completing kits is concerned. My usual output is between five to eight kits depending on time. This year I made the most of the time I had and completed twelve model kits, started a few others and have one right on the verge. I'll wait on that one as to not rush it and fudge something up. For me, that coupled with a few from the 'SHELF OF DOOM' or 'BIN OF DESPAIR' (Whichever you prefer...) is how I managed to do this.

1) Hasegawa, 1:48 scale, Supermarine 'Spitfire' Mk.Vb (Trop). Markings are for Major Robert Levine, 4th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Group, Tunisia, in June 1943. (S.O.D.)

2) Tamiya, 1:48 scale, Douglass A1-H 'Skyraider'. Attack Squadron Twenty Five, (VA-25) 'Fist of the Fleet' USS Midway, June 1965.

3) Hobby Boss, 1:48 scale, Grumman F8F-1, 'Bearcat'. Fighting Eighteen, (VF-18), USS Ranger, October 1945.

4). Trumpeter, 1:32 scale, Grumman F4F-4, 'Wildcat'. Fighting Eleven, (VF-11) 'Sundowners', Henderson Field Guadalcanal, June 1943.

5) Hasegawa, 1:32 scale P-40K-1-Cu, 'Warhawk'. 64th Fighter Squadron, 57th Fighter Group, Hadi Main A/B, Tunisia, 1943.

6). Accurate Miniatures, 1:48 scale, North American A-36A-1-Na, 'Apache/Mustang'. 527th Fighter Bomber Group, 86th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 12th USAAF, based at Tafaraoui, Algeria, June 1943. (S.O.D.).

7) Tamiya, 1:48 scale, Douglass F4D-1, 'Skyray'. Fighting Thirteen, (VF-13) 'Night Cappers', USS Shangri La, 1962.

8) Accurate Miniatures, North American P-51B, 'Mustang'. Capt. Don Gentile, 336th FS, 4th FG, Spring 1944. (S.O.D.)

9) Trumpeter, 1:48 scale, Grumman F9F-3, 'Panther'. Fighting Fifty-One, (VF-51), USS Valley Forge. Korea, 3 July, 1950.

10) Academy, 1:48 scale, Grumman F4F-4, 'Wildcat'. Fighting Nine, (VF-9), USS Ranger, 8 November 1942.

11) Minicraft, 1:48 scale, Grumman XF5F-1. 'Skyrocket'

12) Accurate Miniatures, 1:48 scale, North American P-51, 'Mustang', 111 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 68th Tactical Reconnaissance Group, Italy 1943. (S.O.D.)

The 'almost finished' kit is the Pro Modeler, 1:72 scale, Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-8. 5/300, Fwb. Konrad Bauer. I'll probably get this done right after the first of the year.

Thanks for reading this post. I wish everyone a Happy Healthy and safe New Years and best of luck in modeling for 2025!

So many models, so little time...

  1. Congratulations Freddie!
Wishing you a happy, prosperous 2025!

  2. Freddie from Palm Beach? You're from New York (where the weak are killed and eaten) numb nuts. Anyway, Nice production on some very nice kits. Maybe you'll schlepp up to N.Y. this year for Replicon. Now go home and get your f**king shinebox.

  3. Clearly a successful modeling year, Frederick @fjs3
Wishing you a happy New Year and another wonderful modelling year in 2025

  4. Congrats on a successful build year, Frederick. All nicely done.
    Happy 2025

  5. Nice work Freddie!
    Best wishes 2025.

  6. Freddie, you had a very good year in modeling, and I am guessing that your year in general was also good as it would be difficult to produce that many fine models if something else was amiss. I looked into your personal blog all the way back to your P-47D-15 of the 325th F.G. All are done to a very high standard. I hope you have an equally productive and enjoyable year in 2025.

  7. Nice work, Freddie!

  8. Looks like you had a good year!

  9. Excellent work on all of your builds, Frederick @fjs3! Happy New Year!

  10. G’day Freddie (@fjs3),
    A great selection of builds.
    Here’s to 2025.

  11. I'm about your same speed for output! Not sure how to build more except perhaps to retire...

Your line up looks great - all quality builds. Happy New Year!
