1/48 Nakajima Ki-43 11 Oscar
Finally finished something. 1/48 Hasegawa Nakajima Ki-43 11 Hayabusa (Oscar) flown by Captain Yukichi Kitsakoga, 54th Flight Regiment 2nd Sqd. Kashiwabara Air Base, Horomushiro Island, June 1944.
All markings are painted on. Chipping fluid used for the top green which flaked off the bare aluminium due to no primer and the harsh Pacific climates. Fun easy build.
Dear Paul @paulwoodyvanacker, fantastic weathering with the chipping! Also, the dust on the wheels is great. I love IJA planes with their green schemes.
Thank you. Yes I'm the same. They have the best colour schemes. Japanese and Luftwaffe are my go to for colour scheme challenges.
A fine result on this Oscar, Paul @paulwoodyvanacker
Weathering and painting turned out really nice.
Thank you mate.
Excellent result, Paul!
Thanks mate. 🙂
Nice work, Paul. The chipping is outstanding. I assume the chipping fluid is a weak, water based acrylic of some sort?
Thank you. It's AK Interactive chipping fluid, which is acrylic based. Apparently you can get the same result with furniture polish but I haven't tried that. LOL.
Paul you have turned a fun easy build into a great looking Oscar.
Love the paint effects đź‘Ś spot on .
Thank you.
Awesome job on the Oscar!
I love the wear and tear you applied on the aircraft. It clearly shows the harsh conditions the plane had to operate in.
Thanks for sharing this build.
Thanks mate.
Beautiful work!
Thank you.
Paul (@paulwoodyvanacker),
What really comes across as being impressive, is the paint chipping. It looks natural and what you see in the photos, separates this build from the crowd. Something to write home about and be proud of. Two thumbs up.
Thank you so much. 🙂
Very very nice
Thank you.
Great job. The chipping effect is outstanding.
Thank you so much.
Well done - the chipping looks quite convincing!
Thanks mate, I used pics as a guide, so it's not overdone.
Looks very good to me. I just like how it's worn out.
Thank you.
Well done paint and chip job.
Thank you.
Nicely done. Though there is a lot of chipping it still doesn't look like too much. Hard to do...Well done!
Thank you. Yes, there's a fine line in over doing it. I went by a few photos of other Japanese aircraft with similar weathering as a guide.
