1/72 Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star
Here's my build of a Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star in 1/72 scale with markings as during the Korean War.
The kit used was the vintage Airfix kit from 1974. Panel lines were re-scribed and rivets added. The cockpit and seat were re-done with the Brengun cockpit photo etch set and the canopy replaced by a Falcon Clear Vax Canopy.
For the metallic skin AK True Metal Aluminum was hand brushed on and polished with a cotton cloth. This was then sealed with Pledge and a mat coat. Weathering was done with oils and finally given a satin coat.

Wonderful build. Spectacular finish.
Yeah, that finish is spectacular, which surprised me when you said it was modern paint applied with a brush, but the result is very realistic. the surface detail you added really makes this "pop." Great work.
Lovely Shooting Star!
Very nice work, Celliers @cwiechers
Excellent brush painting, the metallic look is very realistic.
Quite a nice looking F-80C.
Excellent job and awesome result, Celliers!
A beauty! Love the rivet work and the NMF looks very realistic. Hard to imagine how you accomplished that with brush painting!
Great work on one of my favorite kits. How long does it take that True Metal to dry?
Super looking F-80! Nice work!
