A quick (almost) weekend build
This is the 1/48 Hasegawa Japanese Isuzu TX40 fuel truck that comes with one of their Ki-45 Nick kits that I'm building.
(I'm building three Nicks and you can follow the build log here)
Last weekend I decided to start this as a change of pace and nearly built and painted it all in one go.
To be fair I was also working on the Nicks and a Eurofigter Typhoon at the same time.
So, here it is after the last few bits (mainly wheels and canopy) are added.
The hose is just sitting on top in case I decide to use it in a refueling diorama.
It was painted midnight blue as per the instructions and then heavily weathered using a variety of sand and mud tones to represent a IJN tanker being shared with the IJAAF on a dusty/muddy airfield in New Guinea.
It is my first vehicle build since I was a kid and it was a fun diversion.
This is really beautiful, Michael!
G’day Spiros (@fiveten),
Thanks, mate.
Very cool. Built a Nick night-fighter a few years ago
This one came out very nicely, Michael @michaelt
The discoloration of the canvas is done beautifully.
Great looking little build, Michael
