1/35th Scale MRAP MATV The kit from hell

Wow, this was some kind of kit. apparently is actually a from what I can tell, the dead give away is the instructions, which made this kit a challenge to say the least. No real instructions on how to assemble the photoetched parts, and the assembly steps are hard to decipher at times. You have to constantly look ahead in the instructions for guidance as to what the finished assembly actually looks like.

Somehow I made it through after at least 100 hours. The parts are molded well, fit is good. This kit is a hard pass for a beginner and experienced builders will be challenged to the edge of insanity! But in the end, here you go, a beautiful kit. I will NEVER do one of these again, lol.

  1. Fantastic model from this most challenging kit, Rick!
As always with your builds, the result is supreme!

  2. I really like what you managed to achieve…it’s very effectively weathered…are you planning to display in some sort of diorama?

  3. truly fantastic build!

  4. Looks amazing. You definitely won the war against this one.

  5. Definitely a fantastic result, Rick @rickschad
A clear victory over this challenging kit.

  6. Well done. Like the very "busy" look to the build and the paint job to make it all stand out.

  7. It was busy alright! Thanks Gary!

  8. Looks very cool, nicely done despite the puzzle-like instructions.

  9. Nicely done, Rick. I can certainly commiserate with you on this build. I did the prototype engineering installation of the sensor you see between the windscreens on the real thing. I went through the same agony of back and forth with the instructions ( I wrote the darn things). Like you, I finally prevailed and ended up pleased with the results.
    Yours of course looks stupendous!

  10. That’s awesome Dave! Thank you! Now I don’t feel so bad!
