Airfix 1/72 McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 XV424IAT Greenham Common 1979.

February 17, 2025 · in Aviation · 20 · 168

Another in my series of Phantom builds.
The Airfix kit went together in it's normal fashion.
The decals were a very different story, brittle, thin and had to be patched many times from the spares box.
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black.
Painted with
Colourcoats Light Aircraft Grey and Dark Gull Grey.
Mr. Color Off-White.
Tamiya Rubber Black, Nato Black.
Xtreme Metals Gun Metal, Steel, Pale Burnt Metal, Burnt Metal and Jet Exhaust.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Galeria Satin Varnish.

AM used.
Eduard Cockpit Set,
AeroCraft Exhaust Cans,
Xtradecal X72297
