Academy B-52H 1/144
Hello!
Here's my latest project—and my first in 1/144 scale—the Academy B-52H, an iconic Cold War bomber.
I have to admit, working in this scale wasn't the most enjoyable experience. The lack of detail and, of course, the tiny parts made handling quite tricky. But hey, I had to give it a shot, right?
The kit itself is well-designed, with great fit and almost no gaps. However, assembling the fuselage halves requires extra care to avoid misalignment. Some internal parts need to be perfectly positioned, but since they're hidden once everything is assembled, getting them right can be a challenge.
The cockpit was quite basic, so I used a few spare parts to add some extra detail. The decals were decent, with minimal silvering—provided you sand the surface properly before applying the clear coat. I used Mr. Color paints, and since the camouflage was a bit plain, I added some weathering to bring the model to life.
That's it! Hope you like it.
Cheers!
There is nothing like a BUFF! Great job!
Thank you!
With the detail shading you done it’s hard to believe this is 1/144. Pretty amazing results, you must have great eyesight.
Thank you!
I agree with this, your paintwork really brings it upscale.
Thank you!
Great looking B-52, George. 1/144 kits are getting better and better.
Thank you!
That's really impressive.
Thank you!
Well done, George (@george72). The paint and finish is especially well done. Building a model of a large plane is one of the few times that I would tackle something in 1/144.
Thank you!
Fantastic result, George! Hard to believe it is only 1/144!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Excellent achievement, George @george72
Even at this scale you created a beautiful model, especially the shading is superb.
Thank you!
Great job!
Thank you!
Well done, George. I bet that one stands out in the display
Thank you!

I love what you did there!
