Hasegawa 1/48 Arado Ar 234B-2
Arado Ar 234B-2 F1+MT (W.Nr. 140173) of 9/KG 76 was flown by Oberleutnant Josef Regler when he was shot down by a 358th Fighter Group USAAF P-47D Thunderbolt in February 1945. He survived, went back to his unit, was promoted to Hauptmann and appointed Staffelkapitän of 9/KG 76. On 21 March 1945, flying Ar 234B-2 F1+ET, he was again shot down by a USAAF P-47D and crashed northeast of Achmer, his home base, losing his life.
Excellent model and great info on Oberleutnant Josef Regler, Rafi! Looks like those early jets were easy prey for the mighty Jugs!
Thank you, Spiros.
I think though it was matter of bad odds than aircraft performance for the Arado pilots.
This makes much more sense, my friend @blackmopane.
Excellent build - nice cockpit.
Thank you, Chas.
Beautiful Rafi. Do you know why the canopy frames have the white dots?
Thank you, Russell.
From what I had seen, these were just reinforcement screws.
Excellent result, Rafi @blackmopane
Thank you, John.
Another great build - I like the Ar 234 very much.
Please check the dates - he cannot have been shot down in April and having survived, been shot down again deadly in March.
Thank you, Hans.
And thank you, for noticing my mistake. The first incidence was in February.
Definitely one of the best examples of this kit I have seen. Excellent work on the cockpit.
Thank you, Tom!
Fantastic model - well done!
Thank you, Greg!
