Revised: Hasegawa 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 Trop.
Having consulting references for my previous post (https://imodeler.com/2025/03/hasegawa-1-48-messerschmitt-bf-109e-4-7-trop/) I noticed that the old Hasegawa kit instructions were outdated. Eduard's color diagram of the same aircraft showed more details. The aircraft "had European camouflage scheme of RLM 71 and 02 on the upper sides and RLM 65 on the undersides. It was darkened with Dark Green (RLM 71 in all probability) stripes on the fuselage. This modification was done by the ground personnel of another unit in Europe probably as similarly camouflaged Emil was photographed in JG 3 service. Formerly all-Yellow cowling was overpainted with the same color on its upper sides.
In my revision, I added missing tiger stripes, yellow surfaces and kill marks. Yet, the yellow cowl was an overpaint, which means opposite to my painting methodology. To be continued..
Give a ground crew a spray gun and tell them to go to town, and voila! Fun schemes! Nicely done.
Thank you, Greg.
Very nice, Rafi. I think you have "caught" this well-known airplane just right.
Thank you, Tom.
Excellent job, Rafi! You are implementing the extra Eduard information beautifully, the painting result looking awesome so far!
Thank you, Spiros!
Very nice, Rafi @blackmopane
Like always, your painting skills did create a perfect representation of this scheme.
Thank you, John.
