Fifty shades of gray.
Since in the last 3 weeks, for several reason, i did not progress much with the projects I work on , I post an article about a Revell Tornado IDS, 1/48, I build a couple of years ago, for a collegue of mine, working on the real Tornado flight simulator, in Ghedi air base Italy, home of the 154 Bomber Group "Red Devils".
This particular subject operate in the Balcans in 1999.
I had some difficulties to adapt and modify the Neomega kockpit, made for the airfix/Italeri almost 1 cm too long, and reproducing instuments configuration not correct for the subject I intend to build.
Scratch build detail were added into the rear gear air brake bay.
Panel line where rescribed and , using "50 shades of gray", mainly Gunze and Tamiya, in some spot mixed with Tamiya Smoke, I reproduce the faded and whethered grey cammo.
Finally the Sora Show Case came, and I have to painfully deliver the model to my colleague. Hard separation, after a such intense love story.
Well done - very glad you shared this older project with us. Your "50 shades" really came out well, breaking up the monotone scheme.
Very nice build indeed
Now THAT is a beautifully done Tornado, sir...outstanding workmanship!
Beautifully done, Roberto. You made it look like most of the many Tornadoes I saw during Desert Storm. Well done!
Love it! Very well done! I have that kit. Now I can’t wait to build it
Roberto, that turned out beautifully!
Fantastic work, brilliant attention to detail, fabulous finish, your friend must be very happy, I know I would be.
Great work!
Ali e radici, Roberto! It will always be your baby.
Only bad thing about it: one will not see it at a show.
