48th scale North American F-86D Sabre Dog
This model represents the first production single seat fighter to which air-to-air missiles replace the classic gun armament.
The Monogram kit is built out of the box and I do not recall any fit issues. I used several shades of Alclad paint looking for that natural metal finish. I also used Mike Grant decal rivets for added detail. I picked this scheme because I liked the Dennis the Menace graphic.
You've certainly captured the natural metal finish, Jack, and the photographs are very good indeed. Interestingly, Dennis the Menace is a comic book hero in the UK, he's a very naughty schoolboy, not sure if this is the same Dennis!
George... Well the picture of Dennis on the plane sure looks like the comic character that I'm familiar with. Dennis isn't really a naughty kid in the US, just a bit hyper-active and a typical little boy.
Beautiful "dawg" Jack. You're a dab hand with NMF - top notch!
Nice rendition, Jack...but where are the missiles? 🙁
Craig... They are in the belly of the beast.
Oh...like the F-102, huh ? I envisioned them under the wing - my bad. But a nice model 🙂
You did a terrific job on "Dennis the Menace"! Excellent paint.
Super nice, great NMF would like to see what the decal rivets look like.
Any closeups?
Jack,
Wow! I really like what you have done here. Great silver work. Not always that easy to do and you did a marvelous job. I have one of theses that I had started long ago. This makes m e want to dig it out agin and finish it.
The "Dog" rules. Great NMF work.
Dennis the Menace is still here, the only difference neighbor George's wife was once his sister.
lovely dog jack
Very nice work on this. The final result looks really good.
Very nice metal finishing.
Great NMF, and a good looking airplane.
Nice overall finish job, the Dennis the Menace logo is a hoot!
