1/32 Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk.V
This is 1/32 Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk.V with the markings of SN222 JF-E "Le Grand Charles", from No.3 squadron, Fassberg, late April / early May 1945.
I have used Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk.V “Hi-Tech” kit.
Cockpit modified with Yahu instrument panel and CMK resin seat. Some wiring also added in the cocpit side walls.
I have used Barracudacast Tempest V Nose Correction set due to shape problem of the kit.The problem with the kit nose is that the spinner baseplate diameter is too big. This throws out the taper of the forward cowling. The radiator opening is also too big. This causes problems with the shape of the radiator housing.
Painting done with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. Kit decals are excellent .
Exhausts replaced with CMK exhaust set.
Happy modelling

Awesome Typhoon! Another winner Tolga!
Thanks Morne
Tolga,
I like how you brought out the subtle panel lines and rivet detail with either a wash or some other medium. Everything is post shaded subtly with a light touch. Getting a disruptive paint scheme to look unified as if it where one whole is tough. Since its supposed to be disruptive. But, the greens and the grays are all of the same values and intensities ...so the whole thing works. Yet another consistent candidate for model of the month.
Thanks Stephen
Beautiful build, inside and out. I appreciate the subtlety of the paint work and your amazing attention to detail. I've been building this kit for a while now, and while it has great strengths, the fit problems with some areas has really tested me; you make it look very elegant.
Thanks Tim
Superb work, Tolga. Another masterpiece for your collection. The paint is excellent.
Thanks Marvin
Super awesome build. Details are outstanding. Your overall finish and weathering is out of this world good! Very impressive build of a unique, not often modeled, subject. You nailed it. Where the aftermarket parts difficult to adapt for this kit? Any other problems with kit other then shape issues mentioned?
Thanks Paul
Fitting of Barracudacast nose is good but not perfect. Needs some triming on the upper side.
Also need some works for the installation of upper wings to the fuselage.
And finaly fit of the kit s windscreen is not good. Need some work on this area as you can see in attached picture.
