It ain't plastic but it is scale....Maurice Farman...

November 3, 2013 · in Aviation · · 12 · 1.4K

From my Brother Keith in Tuscon Arizona comes this creation. It flys! It's R/C if you look careful you will see the real engine under the water-cooled one. Wingnut Wings-Bah Humbug! Don't know the scale but I'm sure it's big.

  1. Interesting, Bill...but I'm sure SOME of it must be plastic, right? By the way, my son lives just south of Tucson in Sahuarita (he's a border patrol agent) - I always make him take me to Pima Air & Space museum when I visit.

    • Yup been to Pima twice. I LOVE it there. You should see some of the stuff flown at that R/C field. He has Triplanes (Fokker and Sopwith) that he throws all over the sky. Gotta watch for tarantulas though.

  2. Bill,
My compliments to your brother Keith. Great looking model. I marvel at some of the stuff the R/C guys do.

  3. Gorgeous work!

    Best regards, Vlad.

  4. Love the close up shot of the pilot and gunner. Back in the days of risking freezing to death by flying.

  5. Bill, tell your brother greetings - he did a gorgeous model!

  6. stunning...runs in the family

    • Got all we know from our Dear departed Dad, that guy loved models, all types, but a lot of control line, those ones on cables. Never forget the day a begging punk kid got his Dad to buy him the brand-new 1/32 Revell P-40E, 1969 I believe. Him and my brother were always messing with balsa wood, they called me the "Prince of Plastic"

  7. That's impressive!

  8. Looks great, Bill. I can't wait to do the rigging on the 1/72 version...Never volunteer !
