AMMO by Mig Jimenez 1/72 T-54b
The first T54s saw prototype production in the late 1945 but it was introduced to public in 1949. Until the end of production many machines were produced, nearly up to incredibly 100.000 unit were made! The greatest number in military history! I was lucky enough to drive in one T55 in Serbia as a little boy during parade 20 years ago. It was rough ride, but for me it was something unforgetable.
Although I don't do many tanks in 1/72 scale, and I'm a person who is stuck in Panzerwaffe form WWII I decided to do this model. This is the very first scale model made by AMMO by Mig Jimenez. It is moulded in Takom style with empty sprue numbers for quick recongnition of plastic sprues during the built. The kit comes with 6 sprues, one hull, small PE fret, metal towing cable, decal sheet and superb instructions manual. Manual is like a small booklet with full color reference pics and painting guide. It contains many useful data about doing models for people who are new to our hobby. Instructions are very good and easy to follow.
Plastic is very good and it took Mr Cement very well. One more good thing is that MIG included template for bending PE, although PE is very small it is very useful thing. Build was without any problems. There are templates for doing tank tracks…
Believe it or not, I didn't use any putty! Parts fit incredibly good, almost superb! I didn't see almost any gap! With careful preparation this model will goo smooth as a Legos!
Details are excellent, I had to use tweezers because of many small ( and I mean SMALL) details.
The whole model is primed and painted with MIG. I weathered it with MIG washes and pigments and oils. I didn't want to do much weathering because this is the machine from the end of the war. I decided to mark T54 in NVA markings from 1972. The name on cupola is name of the famous Vietnam emperor and general Quang-Trung.
MIG did a superb job with first model, cheers

Well, taking in mind excellent syrian version of T54, maybe I'll make another one too
Well done. AFVs in that scale just seem daunting to me.
Small scale, but details are superb, MIG did a great job
