Fine Molds, 1/48, Mitsubishi J8M1 Shusui interceptor.
This little bugger was a birthday present from my brother. It's the second Fine Molds kit I've build and I must say it's not as good as Tamigawa stuff. Not a great fit of the parts, instructions leave much to be desired. Had to use my fantasy on some parts.
I used Tamiya acrylics, only the red balls ( hinumarus) are decals and the data tags.
Interior is done with Revell enamels, wash is done with vallejo sepia, did some chipping to give it a more "live' look...
I wonder what "look" the Japanese were going for on this plane's paint scheme. Very nice build on an unusual aircraft.
Very nice. I've always liked the Shusui.
Really? Purple and Orange? My Eyes hurt. :). Great looking model anyway.
Weren't the orange painted aircraft the 'test' airframes? Not sure but I always thought so.
Yes, the orange aircraft were test-airframes.
It's very cute, Ulrich, looks like it might have been a little tricky to fly though!
Thanks guys for the kind words!
