Roden 1/144th Lockheed C-141B Starlifter

March 30, 2020 · in Aviation · · 6 · 2.1K

Another completed kit. I had purchased a Caracal Decal set for C-141 Starlifters some time ago and they sat in the 'future projects maybe' pile.

I then picked up a Roden Starlifter and eventually got around to this result.

Whilst I enjoy looking at her, close inspection is avoided as this kit is really badly warped. Whether that the kit or my modelling the jury still out!

  1. It really is a superb job, Mark. Roden kits are not the easiest to make; I've had my times with the 1/72 Antonov 12 BK-PPS and the 1/48 Mohawk; warped parts was one of the issues.
    Great result!
    All the best!

  2. Good looking C-144 Mark, the Starlifter that brought the Vietnam POW's home resides at the USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio. Many took a sharpie and wrote their names on a bulkhead. They're still there.

  3. Fantastic! I refueled so many of these!

  4. Looks nice in the gray/white scheme,I was a passenger in one at two different times once as a medevac patient [broke a leg in the Med] and later with my reserve unit heading for the Med.

  5. Nice looking 'lifter. My first assignment after finishing pilot training was as a copilot in Charleston. I have flown the actual plane several times. This model brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting the pics.
