1/48 Scale P-39 Airacobra.

April 11, 2020 · in Aviation · · 7 · 3.2K

This is "eduards" scale model kit. I built it right out of the box and used the kit decals. I added Waldron belt buckles with some home made paper straps. I used different colors of Tamiya paint.

I liked the model so well that I bought two more kits because I always wanted to have some "Cobra" air racing models from the late 1940's.

Enjoy: Rodney

  1. Great build. That NMF looks really good.

  2. Great looking P-39. Thanks for representing a 4 bladed version, have always thought they looked great.

  3. Perfect, Rodney! Have the same kit. Your build is a definite inspiration to dig mine out of my SoD.

  4. Nicely done Rodney, I'm currently building Eduards P-400.

  5. Thanks to all comments. TOM...WHAT IS THE P-400?

  6. Hey Rodney, @f2g1d
These P-39 models you posted look fantastic. I liked the air racers the best. The P-400 is another version of the P-39. The pilots who flew them in the South Pacific against the Japanese used to say the "P-400 is a P-40... with a Zero on it's tail !".
