Hobbycraft 1/48 P-36A
Curtis P-36A flown by commander of the 20th Pursuit Group, March Field California, November 1939. My 4th P-36 but the hardest being bare metal finish. 2 months on and off, sanding, filling, resabding, priming, more sanding... but completed today. Hope you like. Thanks for looking.
All that work sure paid off.
Thank you ?
Nice work, Paul. I just pulled one of the French boxing’s of that kit from my stash and was thinking of building it soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks mate. I've done the French, it comes out great. Did the Dutch and Chinese too.
You could do 20. Lol.
Just beautiful, Paul.
The model itself looks great and also the diorama you used is very nice.
Thank you so much ?
Superb result, Paul!
You did a fantastic work on the Hobbycraft kit.
What a great inspiration!
Thanks mate. Much appreciated
Great job, Hobby craft kits definitely take some "modeling skills" and then the prep for a NMF to boot! Well done!
Thank you. It was worth the hours of sanding. Lol I learnt alot with this one.
Nicely done - looks great - especially for a Hobby Craft kit!
Thank you ?
Great model from a not-so-great kit. Looks super.
Thanks mate. I heard Dora may be naking a new mold. I hope so. ?
All of the above, looks great!
Thank you ?
G'day Paul (@paulwoodyvanacker),
You achieved a beautiful finish on this build.
I have one in the stash - I intend to do a French bird.
Given you've built 4 of these, do you have any tips on things to look out for?
Love it.
Thanks mate. I think the biggest issues were the wings attaching to the fuselage. There's a gap that'll need filling, which is what took so long for me with the metal finnish.
The undercarriage legs don't fit into the allotted holes so take care when attaching. The engine is ok, but the propellor will hit the machine guns mounted on top so be careful when attaching.
There's veey little detail inside so with every ine, I've closed the canopy.
I hward Dora Wings may be doing a new tool kit. I hope. I could easily do more. Lol.
I have pics of all my others in my blog if you'd like to see.
Good luck with your kit. ?
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Very nicely realized Paul, all the work involved paid off in the long run.
Thanks so much mate. I love yhe P-36. ?
