Those Le Rhône rotary engines were insane. Here's a video of Kermit Weeks' Sopwith Pup being started. You have to skip to 18:30. It warms up after about a minute and sounds like Satan's chainsaw.
I have a little of modeler's envy when I see a kit so well done. It really looks beautiful. Love the paint work and the flight control surface moved. You delivered a really beautiful plane.
